March already?! Now it feels like the year has officially started and just gets busier from here. But with each new month there’s always something to look forward to. Here are five things that are on my list for March.
1. Art of Accessorizing: Accessorizing your accessories is the trend of the season. From Anya Hindmarsh’s fun leather stickers to my personal favorite, furry big eyed keychains from Fendi. Quirky is the new black.
2. Be a Lady: One of my girlfriend’s favorite saying is, “Be a lady.” Feminine hemlines and fun prints will make it easy to do just that this season. For a classic look, channel Carolina Herrera and pair a crisp white tailored blouse with a beautifully printed midi skirt. Want to make your look a bit more edgy, switch out the white blouse for a vintage rock tee or add a fitted leather biker jacket to your look.
3. Pretty in Pink: Nude lipgloss has been a runway staple for many seasons and continues strong. This season it was a welcome interruption in a sea of nude, to see beautiful fuchsia lips come down Oscar de la Renta’s runway. Think shades of watermelon and caribbean pink for Spring. Beautiful fuchsia lips are the modern day red.
4. All Tied Up: Lace-up heels have been a staple in the well dressed closet’s for the past few seasons. This season the trend has evolved and created the lace-up flats. Leave it to Isabel Marant to once again design what is sure to be the “It” shoe for Spring/Summer.
5. Inside the Art World: Having just moved, there are a few empty walls in our flat that are in need of some artwork. From March 15th – 17th, the uber chic art exhibit, Art Basel, will set up shop in Hong Kong. I’m looking forward to attending and hopefully finding some gorgeous artwork for our walls.
